If Only Every Day

If Only Every Day

A Poem by Teddybearlee

I can imagine it so easily
You, walking down the hall, in light colors
You usually wear light colors, and they suit you so well
We make eye contact
The tears start welling up in me
You come up and put your arms around me
My voice cracks whispering I love you, I've missed you
Your voice cracks whispering in my ear you love me too
I rest my face on your shoulder
The tears are flowing out, God how I've waited for this
I press my lips lighly on your shoulder and kiss you
This is a moment that will be frozen in time
Holding you so tightly, I don't want it to end
This is all I need of love, this is all I desire
Just to share this moment with you
I feel that warm wave of peace I always do in your embrace
And how I hope you feel the safety of being in my arms
How I hope my love warms you as yours does me
You bury your face in my neck, just resting it there, I hear your breathing
Just something else to comfort me, to tell me, you are loved
Please don't ever pull away, you feel like heaven
My angel of redemption, how you have saved me
And how I live to save you too, does your heart tell you that?
Breathing you in, your hair, your skin, your clothes
How long I have waited, as I cherish every second of this
It will all end too soon, I know this as soon as we touch
But I try and bury the thought and live for the moment
Just You and I, again, in our own little world, just briefly
