We were a love story
Alike and different from every other
So full of hopes and dreams
And together we were beautiful
We both came up hard
From nothing and dirt
But as a team
We dug our way out
Our future was bright
Hard work was working
Love drove our desires
To prove anything was possible
Maybe not rags to riches
But surely almost middle class
More luxury than we had ever had

Or saying I love you
Even after marriage
We smiled and flirt like a first date
And God knows your smile still gives me butterflies
Even to the point of nervousness
Because after 8 years
I still saw an angel
Never regret, never saw greener grass
