Swimming Up A Waterfall

Swimming Up A Waterfall

A Poem by Teddybearlee

Happy messages from happy people
Or just people holding out hope
Are there answers in your medicines
Mine just whispered a nope

There's more for you in life
I promise there's another side
A love awaits you in time
I read these and I cry

How I wish these were the truth
But they died with the fairy tales
No key lies within my being
There's not even a spark to begin to fail

Better days are sure to come
This will only prove to make you strong
I'm a stone already chipped and worn
The inevitable end I won't prolong

How many times even I shouted
"What happens tomorrow?" as my anthem
But as months went with no change
Positivity became a phantom

Not God, Buddha, or my best friends
Have words that alter my beliefs
Sometimes we just have to die
Buried in our grief
