Listening Harmony

Listening Harmony

A Poem by Teddybearlee

If ever a connection of souls occurred
A slow melding of heart and spirit
Never enough time to get my fill
Of breathing you in, eyes and ears

I can't figure out this hurt
From crutch to crush to good bye
How did you happen to me
But like a butterfly out of reach

Were you a figment of my imagination
More likely God still playing tricks on my fragile heart
I don't know what I want to believe
But as always, what I want doesn't matter

A heart already claimed and tamed
Yet I think I felt a weak link
Where we listened
Both of our ears to the boundary

Our hands touching the same spot
Feeling the beats of life
I didn't expect to find this empathy
On equal levels as my own

More questions than answers I let go
But not with my love and confusion
Who are you
My mystery lost in a shell
