Your Half

Your Half

A Poem by Teddybearlee

How can I sleep, when your side of the bed is empty
I throw my arm over to touch you, but there's only me
When I awake with a start, needing your caress
But it's just me laying here, alone in distress

A pillow still rests where you use to lay your head
And you would smile with delight at the words I had said
How I miss holding hands and of course we would spoon
My arm around you as my head seemed to swoon

Your breathing a comforting sound in the dark
As was a kiss from your lips always providing a spark
Now I just stand there before I tuck in
Praying to God how I wish, for you to be beside me again
