Angel On My Shoulder

Angel On My Shoulder

A Poem by Teddybearlee

Still whispering in my ear
Your ghost, on my shoulder
Asking for my help
Breaking down, this boulder

What an imagination
I have been cursed with, I deem
To think you need saving
Like life is some dream

You still tell me you love me
And everything will be ok
The world will work out
Just not for today

Keep fighting the fight
And the bricks will crumble
Lightning will stop striking me
The thunder will no longer rumble

There has to be a chink in the armor
You have facing my soul
A place I can breach with words
And let them take toll

Keep the house warm
And keep the lights on dim
You may arrive in the night
And smile lovingly again

The rooms are all tidy
I'm fixing the place up
Theres a few new surprises
And you can meet the new pup

Your list of home wishes
I'm slowly still granting
For when you put your lips to mine
And end all my ranting

Keep whispering in my ear
My Beautiful Angel on my shoulder
I feel you always close by
Even as the nights grow ever colder
