Cupid's Warrior

Cupid's Warrior

A Poem by Teddybearlee

He awakes
And knows before wiping the sleep from his eyes
The mission that lays ahead

Foggy mind
Another restless sleep interrupted constantly
Sleeping sideway on the bed

Cobwebs gone
Pictures of you grace this home abundantly
Motivate me to go

Keep afloat
Physically, financially, mentally, emotionally
For you I have to row

Battle on
Through depression, anxiety, the blows rain down
So relentless these aches

Missing you
Through holidays, rain, snow, sunshine
Life is pain, my voice shakes

My strong will
Is the sword I wield in the face of adversity
To wage this endless onslaught

Truth be told
I could use a hand from Cupid's loving bow
To assist in this long shot

No matter
I've gone this long without a hint of turning tide
Yet I still persist

No white flag
I will go on till time itself stops the wheel from turning
Falling down, I must resist
