Telling You About My Day

Telling You About My Day

A Poem by Teddybearlee

After I tuck our daughter in bed with a story
I slowly make my way to my shrine of us
My vision starts to get a little blurry
As I get down on my knees to see the one I trust

I tell you all about my day as if you still listen
And many times over spill out how much you're missed
My voice starts to tremble and my cheeks they are glistened
As I vow theres only you, remembering your kiss

I look to the sky, then I bow my head
Then raise my eyes to meet yours again
I don't know if anyone, realizes my strength to NOT be dead
But the fight is not done,  I will fight till the end

Time is but an illusion, it stopped when you walked out
Suffocating me in this stasis
Living in a memory and a future of doubt
Without you I recognize none of these places

So I climb up off me knees
And kiss your picture good night
As I beg to God please
Let her come home a loving light
