The Deepest Scars

The Deepest Scars

A Poem by Teddybearlee

Transformation doesn't mean healing
My love forever, you will be stealing
The pain turns to numbness, the numbness to acceptance
Accepting never again, will I be in your presence

Some wounds will burn for eternity inside
Filling the holes, made of hearts that have died
My mind will always be stained by your touch
Because of this pain, my soul needs a crutch

Sometimes we give more than we can ever get back
And sometimes what we received, was all that we lacked
When you know for a fact there is nothing left
Except you and the soul stealer, the mistress of theft

The tears may not fall quite as frequently
Yet every second is spent like money, on you and me
I've told all not to doubt my loyalty
To you is as vast, as an open sea

Next year at this time, will still be the same
Me telling you I love you, out loud, by name
In our home where you left me, trembeling and frantic
Destroyed to the core, this hopeless romantic
