Metal to Flesh

Metal to Flesh

A Poem by Teddybearlee

This metal, on my finger, this round shiny band
Has more meaning, to me, than any symbol, so grand
The representations, and meanings, of forever and bond
The words, I spoke, will always hold, as strong

This isn't about religion, or a piece of paper signed
It's about, you and me, together in all time
The promises, the swears, the we are as one
Don't believe, for a moment, my love could ever be gone

Through sickness, through health, fire and ice
In my head, this was never, a toss of the dice
Five thousand percent, loyal have I been
Regrets, I have none, with you there's no need to sin

My faith, in our web, thats intertwined
Doesn't bend, doesn't break, my words, do bind
My heart to my soul, to my mind to my toes
It's why I'm lost, without you, when your love's not close

Till the end, of all time, and the sun doesn't shine
I'll climb, the highest mountain, to hopefully remind
You, of our greatness, as a team, as united
An inferno, of love, is what you have ignited

So the door, sits open still, if you change your mind
To come home, snuggle, and just take time to unwind
Make things right, admit the wrongs, we can still work this out
It doesn't hurt, to swallow pride, for a love of no doubt

I love you
