Counting the Ways

Counting the Ways

A Poem by Teddybearlee

In the name of love
For the sake of all I believed
I played the fool
Truly the idiot, the one deceived

Shared my plights with the world
And of that I don't mind
People can think what they want of my reality
It's what I think of myself that's defined

Her messages of finding what she was looking for
And a boy responding back
She tried to talk her way out
But reality was, that was her track

I introduced her to the place
Where she met her future friend
She tried to deny sleeping with him at first
But later admitted, it was that sin

She drove for three hours to his town
And brought him back here to have her way
And her excuses to me
Were always as thin as hay

And I told her even then
The door is open
I begged for her to remember the truth
All in vain, such is life
