Lost and Wandering

Lost and Wandering

A Poem by Teddybearlee

The dusty breeze of the sulpher filled desert
Settles in the back of my mind as I stare at the ground
Theres nothing that can penetrate the spirit
When it's already dead and gone without you around

Angel on my shoulder left a while ago
So now it's just dazed wandering into the distance
Walking through a hell of my own
But it's a picture of desolation, just remembrance

My hair blowing tangled, unkempt
My clothes ragged and my walk a limp
I was a man to take on the world
I made the choice to make my own mission, no relent

This dry sun crackling my skin
I'll be on this road for eternity for reasons not understood
I thought God had my back for a bit
Now I question whether anything in this world is good

I feel I'm carrying the weight of the world
For a sin of which I have no clue
A curse I must burden for all time
An eternity without you

If I fall on this journey the devil dusts me off
He laughs and tells me you should've listened
Only care about yourself and don't believe in love
He doesn't care about the blood dripping, glistened

Yet I carry on, still praying for the light
But not of God, but of my angel of the moon
For she's a reflection of the true glow
Gone from my life when never would've been too soon

There's no tears left in these dried hazel eyes
It's too late to go blind though
I can't get the pictures out of my mind
Of perfection in the flesh, flashing in motions so slow

A walking disaster, a walking dead
A heart forever dying, a soul forever crying
