Holidays Without You

Holidays Without You

A Poem by Teddybearlee

Every winter, we called each other at the first drop of snow
And we snuggled under the blankets, as temperatures went below
I missed you so much on Christmas, it hurts knowing where you were
My favorite holiday, where I spoiled you like you deserve

Thanksgiving I saved an empty spot, and set it just for you
I spent it in quiet contemplation, praying this wasn't true
Halloween I know you love, you stopped by and you were gone
Once again, I know where you went, I discovered from someone

My birthday I've been pretty much over, but I still hoped to for a note
As always, I waited all day, not even as much as an emote
New Years Eve....you text me, saying you hope I can forgive
What can I possibly say to that, it's your life you choose to live

Vacation is just around the corner, a trip I know I'll be in sorrow
Once again, all will remind me of you, please come home, by tomorrow

Everything was better with you, the only one I'll truly need
Sharing my life with you, was so special I wish you'd see
