Salvation For the Damned

Salvation For the Damned

A Poem by Teddybearlee

We think we know hell
The fires burning, searing in to our flesh and bone
Our sins repeatedly embedded in our brains
An eternity of punishment for a failure to accept
How is this different?
Do those damned on earth fear such trivial details?
An eternity in pain here, an eternity in pain there
We are not all created equal
The inequality of the soul knows know boundries
What people think of as karma, justice, God's plan, the Devil's work
Hits not those of race, not those of sexuality, not those of religion
It hits the innocent, for we are all born of no knowledge of right and wrong
Who chooses to give tortured souls their weight?
No, there is no equality in mental and emotional strength
Some of us our wounded unto the very depths of our being
And we know life will be forever filled with pain
Do all who know this feeling deserve it?
Are we punished?  If I believe in God, does it help?
No, there is no excuse, no reason, no "plan"
As dying children are given no chance
As disease holds those in its grips for months, years
Grandparents, parents, children, babies
Mental anguish, are we meant to let go?
Then why can all not, there is no choice in my eyes
I am cursed for all to see.
Without you.
