Another Lover

Another Lover

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

All the boys who fool around,

From noon ‘til night,

I got it bad for just a few,

They really played me right,

While they messed around,

With perfect model types.

One of them, plucked my eyes,

Straight from their sockets,

He knew how to rock it,

He shot like a rocket,

Straight into whatever it is,

That beats in my chest.

I wish I’d known better, then,

Not that it matters now,

To the broken thing,

Pumping beneath my breast.

He always went out, partied hard,

Partied loud.

He claimed to never f**k around,

But where was he,

When he thought I slept sound?

Anything she does, I like to think,

I can do it better,

But then I ask myself,

Then why aren’t we together?

I fell in love, you flirted for fun,

Are you ashamed, about all your games,

And all the times you lied,

And told me they were done?

You thought you could live freely,

And deceive me, leave me bleeding,

While you go cheating.

How wrong you were,

To think I’d go down meekly,

I’m quite cheeky,

You always liked that,

I remember.

You said that,

I was magic,

Did you mean that?

It’s quite tragic,

How hard it is,

To separate what’s true or not,

I guess I want, an explanation,

On why you put your concentration,

Into another.

Whatever she did,

Please tell me I did it better,

But explain to me,

Why we’re not together.

I fell in love, you flirted for fun,

Are you ashamed, about all your games,

And all the times you lied,

And told me they were done?

You thought you could live freely,

And deceive me, leave me weeping,

While you go touching,

Kissing,

Hugging,

Loving,

Another lover.

Long but your imagery was there... Funny if I had to write this it would be the female version. So many people these days don't look to the heart or soul just the outward perception of lust. Jumping from one to the other using careless words to get from each stepping stone. Its sad, romance and deepness has been lost in the shuffle of false illusions and feelings. Leaving behind a body torn and a battle to reach the heart and start a fire. The battle never ends till someone finally comes along who is willing and strong to make a stand for one thing.... Love!

Well written my friend.
