In the Blink of An Eye

In the Blink of An Eye

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

In the blink of an eye, I took to the skies…

In the blink of an eye, I flew so very high,
To what I thought may be heaven.

What on Earth had happened?

"You’re dead,” an angelic figure whispered,
“But God is not your proper keeper.”

And in the blink of an eye, I was sent hurtling down, down, down,
Far beneath the ground, far beneath the deepest well.

In the blink of an eye, I had flown to the place honored by church bells...

And in the blink of an eye, I was now in Hell.

Written for the contest, "In The Blink of An Eye" Kind of based on a dream I had had....I had gone to what I thought was heaven...and in another dream I dreamed of Hell...this was all during my stay in the hospital.
