The Lesson of Imperfection

The Lesson of Imperfection

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

Satan taints my blood, as does God.
It was perfection that I sought.
But, now I've learned quite a lot.

I shall never stay the same.
I may never win this game,
The Game of Good versus Evil.

It was perfection I could not equal.

I contained too little charm.
I could only give the gift of harm.

The shadows cloaked my heart,
But, really they were there from the start.

I used to yearn for perfection,
But instead, I learned the perfect lesson.

My heart will always be at war with my mind.
Imperfection is where true perfection lies.

The more i read your writing the more it resonates with my soul
such deep and meaningful words with pure intentions
i especially love this line The shadows cloaked my heart,
But, really they were there from the start. my interpretation of that is that both always existed inside both good and evil because neither could exist without the contrast of the other.

absolutely amazing the more i read the more deeply i am enthralled whimsical mastery of metaphor
