Much Too Much

Much Too Much

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

I was thinking much too much today,
Thoughts of you with a distant face.

I consumed much too much today,
Fatty foods and potent drinks.

I sang a song much too much today,
It stuck like glue and sucked like you.

I dreamt much too much today.
Of never-mores and childish bores.

I walked much too much today,
I hurt my toes, my feet are worn.

I sought much too much today,
My expectations have exceeded you.

I tried much too much today,
To be near you and be like you.

It's all becoming much too much.
