This Relationship Is Like...

This Relationship Is Like...

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

Where’d you go?

I missed you so.
Did you find her? No?

Sorry that’s too bad.
Don’t apologize, it only makes me sad…

Just sit here with me like old times.
You did bad things like we all do.
I, however, will always forgive you.

You’re my friend ’till the end
And I know we’re nothing more.

This relationship is horrid, we have such different views.
Yet, we both deny what everyone sees,
That we’d love the idea of “you and me”.

This relationship is like unrequited love, all the broken hearts,
Your very first crush, loving someone you don’t know very much

Your dumb way of giving advice, not listening to those who are right
Stunned when he walks in the room, that beautiful smile she gives you,
Your teacher’s life lessons, simply being rejected,

A sad past or a frightening soon-to-be,
Finding little food in your refrigerator, the competition of a rival,
Or your hearts survival

Your view on love is explosive, while mine is eternal,
Being beaten at a game or being told your clothes are lame,
When someone calls you insane or

Believing in destiny and fate...

Either way we’re stuck together,
And things will get better.
