Underneath It All

Underneath It All

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

You’re very handsome, I’ll admit.

But your personality could use a fix.

Ladies love you, think you’re so cool.
But none of them mean a thing.

You play and play,
Your same old game,
Until every girl you’ve claimed.

You’re hurtful and harsh,
Only because,
You’ve yet to feel true love.

But…

Underneath it all, you’re quite sweet.
It’s rather weird how you treat me.
I see the love you try and hide from me.

Underneath it all, you’re lovely.
The way you speak, the nice things you do,
Makes me think twice about you.

Oh, if only you knew…

Underneath it all, only I can truly see.
Underneath it all, you’re really quite lovely…

Don’t shut me out.

Please don’t doubt,
These emotions coming to life…
You know I’m right, you know I’m right…

Don't shut me out…

Underneath it all, I see it all…

Don’t shut me out...

Underneath it all, I see it all…
