My Tears Shall Cease When Your Lies End

My Tears Shall Cease When Your Lies End

A Poem by T. Edana Talbott

You tell me to wipe away the tears,
That I have nothing to fear

You’ll be here forever, you whisper…
Well, you just make me weep more,
When you utter such words…

Because I know it’s over.

You shouldn’t have to tell me not to worry,
I shouldn’t have this doubt about your feelings

And don’t tell me to dry my eyes.

I'll quit crying,
When you're done lying…
