Water lies

Water lies

A Poem by #33

She sits still

Lost yet regal

On the spiral stairway

Her forlorn hideaway

Leading down to still water

Her serene reflection

A silent beholder

Of her quiet recollection

So unwavering her poise

I could almost miss

That tiny tranquil tear

At the corner of an unblinking eye

And she calm unfazed

Never again to be dazed

By a gaping earth or a falling sky

So if she knew I knew

That I could view

That surreal shadow maiden

That comely ghost by her side

The two sharing a dog-eared joke

From a lifetime ago

Would she open the door

Let me inside

So we may once again be

That star trio

Of that prized chapter

When gaiety and mirth

Were our gleeful allies

In a cherished world ringing with

Our incessant happy laughter

This was astonishingly beautiful. It was so well thought out... but not thought by the head but by the soul. Your head just helped form the words in your heart. The picture you paint is hauntingly gorgeous and yet so lonely. although some do fine beauty in being alone.
