Another Tombstone

My heart can’t grasp this concept
It simply refuses, just inconceivable
We couldn’t tell, you always hid the truth from us but your body was exhausted
The fact that you had it concealed left me at a loss for words when you left my life forever and departed
The tears fell constantly as I began to lose myself in my own agony and grief
When will the mourner ever stop mourning over their loved one? It’s a treacherous battle they fight, we fight, I fight still in disbelief
I lost many, as the numbers go up, people don’t get it, they say its just another casket, another wake to attend, another black dress to retrieve from the ongoing wardrobe, another tailgate with police escorts, another room full of tears, another funeral director to argue with, another pile of sympathy cards from people who don’t really care, don’t really understand but will do anything to feel like they aren’t a bad person… Another sad poem attached to a bunch of flowers, another tombstone….
Just another tombstone? If it was really another tombstone would the queen feel so far from her throne?
Just another tombstone that left you alone? It can’t be just another tombstone….Stone shouldn’t have that much of an impact on the common individual…
The constant flashes … simply inadmissible
And the only reason they didn’t see what I saw in you was because we built a bond too strong for them to conceive , they constantly tried to shoot you down and when Leyah wouldn’t allow it that same bond, they tried to overshadow it …
You said ignore it, that’s just what haters do, I listened to your words of wisdom, for I always listen more then I speak because it helps me to grow wiser… But I only go against my word when their ignorance finally gets beneath my skin, causing me to step beside myself
That’s when the tables turn and they go by what I preached…Listen more then you speak…
Don’t you dare part your lips and tell me, relax, it’s just another tombstone because my ears reject all lies and my back turns on those who speak them and believe them….
It'll never be JUST another tombstone
