Ropeburns

Ropeburns

A Poem by CrimsonDecorum

Tied to these ropes of addiction.

While you plead for help.

You say you'll stop tomorrow,

but your not garunteed tomorrow.

---

Tied to these ropes of fear.

Keep this up and you'll die.

Not so happy when your lungs,

are full of black gunk.

---

Tied to these ropes of afflictions,

how can you not have rope burns?

They've held you down for years,

with this bad addiction to the smoke.

---

Tied down to these ropes here,

with no way to cut them,

untie or loosen them.

They'll get tighter and tighter with no escape.

Please stop. . .

Author's Note

CrimsonDecorum
This is for a friend of mine who smokes. Her boyfriend's grandfather has been smoking and drinking since he was 18, and his liver is torn up, and his I think that he said that his grandfather has lung cancer. I just don't want that to happen to my friend who this is for. Thanks for reading :)
