Something In The Dark

Something In The Dark

A Poem by Kayla

Something in the dark

That is watching my every move

I feel its eyes boring into the back of my head

I hear it's deep breathing

I see its shadow from the moonlight

I know I must get away from this place

I know I must leave at once

And never return

But it's not possible to leave forever

Because it will haunt me in my dreams

Never leave my memories

So instead of running away

I turn around and face the thing watching me

Let it hurt me

Let it kill me

But if I leave

I know I must return

And if I stay

I know I must leave

And it will leave me if only I stay

After ten minutes of waiting

And wondering what will happen to me

It leaves

Turns its back on me

And it knows neither of us

Will have to come back here again

Not in our dreams or memories

We are free to go

About
I write a lot of poetry. Most of it is really serious, and negative. But I'm actually a really happy and fun person:) I write fanfiction whenever I see a movie, or read a book that doesn't explain a l.. more..
