Arctic PrayerA Poem by TommyDA prayer written upon my return from my time in the tundra of the arctic circle. Just saying it takes me back. . .Arctic water, quenching thirst, flowing through my veins " purity sustain me. Arctic air, warm one day, biting cold the next, but clear always " clarity sustain me. Arctic wind, fills the ear to roaring, yet quieting the mind " stillness sustain me. Arctic wildlife, both seen and hidden, the circle of life " mystery sustain me. Arctic tundra, soft grass mixing flora, uneven, testing carpet " character sustain me. Arctic flower, colors not imagined, fragile, short-lived " beauty sustain me. Arctic rock of every marking " circle, spiral, dots, lines " creativity sustain me. Arctic twilight, the low northern sun playing with the clouds the crisp early light defining the freshly white mountaintops - wonder sustain me. Arctic time, doing what is needed but free to stop, and look, and listen " Balance sustain me, still.
