To Reach YouA Poem by Tracie D'Angelo
Over the expansive, mysterious oceans teaming with life in great mass to minute gypsies living in the cold and dark abyss
Over the tallest, snow capped mountains housing gurus of ancient wisdom among the agile goats that glide perilously over rock and crag without a hint of knowledge that every step could be their last Over the vast, endless deserts that bake their unlucky inhabitants like a kiln and dare them to break apart in the frigid dark when the merciless sun goes down Over the crowded cities compacted with lonely souls drowning themselves in alcohol and excess as they aimlessly search for the other half of themselves to give them a reason to believe all is well Over the lonely, silent countryside that is under surveillance by a million, bright stars reporting back to the ever present moon of the soft lowing of cattle and the menacing purrs of cats on the hunt Over the meadows Through the forests dappled in sunlight Across softly rippling creeks From coast to coast I whisper to you I whisper to you of my longings my desires my wants my needs I whisper to you of my feelings that are so strong that they can travel the distance to reach your heart 1 December 2010
