A Poem by Tracie D'Angelo

Written 26 June 1991

"

The edge of night holds dim

And the stars that lead your way

Talk of fortunes that may come

And riches of the day

But too wise are you to tell

Forsaken are your dreams

The objects that you sell

Are ends to all your means

And you fight with all your force

To stray from roads of steps unseen

You linger from your course

To places you’ve already been

Smile, my friend, delight

Listen to secrets never told

You know, my friend, what’s right

Of everything you hold

Nice lines…..
Feel that it contains inner meanings…more than I can fathom….
when I went through the poem….a second time…
I could see a new pattern of meaning….
And it is great….
Excellent….

I like it too, and the reason is also unclear, it's probably one of those poems that catch the soul and eye but not the concious mind! I like the scattered rhyming.
