DAUNTING DUSTA Poem by Tazeen Ahmed
Enveloped walls
gawp and glint at my misfortune… Where blue
d’light is barred; concealed in ceased freedom. Where flaps
are bolted but windows peek, And disentangle
my essence in the venomous vapors. Brute about
me tails like a shady shadow, Lets me not
harness a variation from tedium… Witness about
ye ‘roused, novel fads and ideologies have ascended
from dusky deceased divans. But my eyes
can only drop a tear and weep in drizzling pillows… In daunting
nights; in the dimness of broken reveries, Instead of a
lullaby, molten soft iron beats hard on mellow beats… Thus tell
them that I’m the zombie; the one, Whose métier
kindles every time faintness bangs. ~ © 2017 Tazeen Ahmed |
