Chapter 2: Belinda's little helper

       Melina stared at her home one more time,before turning back around and heading up the slope to her grandmother,Belinda's cave. Inside, Belinda was dropping some ingredients into a bowl. Melina made her appreance into the cave. She saw Blueanne flying in with some rocks in her mouth.''Hey Melina,''She greeted with her mouth full.

     ''Hi Blueanne,'' Upon,hearing her voice Belinda turned around and smile wide at her granddaughter.''Melina! You're here,come come,''Belinda urged.Melina trotted to the back of the cave to her grandmother.

     ''Granny what are you doing?''She asked sitting down on her haunches. ''Are you making a new cure for anything?''

      ''You know that one potion we were going to do-something with making your mind...''Belinda was saying putting a couple hot rocks inside the bowl.

     ''Disappear?''Melina got up wagging her tail.''The forgetting spell?That's it right?Is it working?''

     ''No sweetheart,not yet.I'm adding the last touches.''Belinda said.Blueanne flew to the rim of the bowl overlooking it.''Is it suppose to be gas-y like this?''She asked.

      Melina came up to the bowl.The potion was a lime green,bubbly and gas-y Blueanne was right.It reeked.

     ''Of course not Bluey,it'll be done in no time!''Belinda cheered.The room was silent.They stared at the green void in the bowl as Belinda steered the spoon for some time.She abruptly stopped mixing the potion.''I'm missing something,''Belinda said in confusion.

    ''What are you missing?I can go get it!''Melina asked.

      ''It might be some lilacs and a rose petal.That's it.It might be.''Belinda said.''You think you can go get that for me?Come on Blueanne let's go feed Violent.''Blueanne fluttered her wings and flew out the cave.Belinda followed her.

      Melina stretched her body and went out the den with a yawn.''Alright off to the wild flowers field!''She was walking down the paths when a black and silver comet flew right pass her.It was a strong force as the wind smacked her in the face.''What the?''She said.''Sirius?''

     He came again as the wind brushed her face again.''Sirius! It is you!''She exclaimed.

     ''Hey,''He stopped and smile.''Where you off to,Dolly?''

     ''I'm off to the wild flowers field.What are you doing?''

      ''Just running around.Haven't done that in a long time. Where's Blueanne and Belinda?''

      ''They went off somewhere! It's so nice to see you again!''

       ''You,too.''Sirius said as he yawned.

      ''Sleepy?''Melina guessed.''I don't blame you.My pack woke up real early!''Melina got up and started walking again towards the wild flowers field with Sirius following her.

''How does it feel to be in a...a...pack?''He hesitated. Melina perked her ears at his question.

     ''Aren't you in a pack?''She asked not making eye contact with him.

     ''Never.I'm a lone wolf.''

      ''Well that's not bad.It'll just be to hard to...to...''Now Melina was hesitating. She wanted to say 'survive' but she never been a lone wolf and she didn't want to judge their living.

      ''I know what you mean,''Sirius nodded.''What are you getting at the wild flowers field?''He sudden;y changed the subject.

      ''Lilacs,rocks,gems anything,the usual.''Melina said plainly.

        ''Why do you even want to be a medical wolf?''Sirius asked tilting his head to one side.Melina sighed fondly.''I just,well...as a pup I was always the one to get in trouble a lot.It was always 'Melina done this,Melina done that.' I got tired of it so my mom took me to live with my granny in her witch craft cave. First I thought living with my grandmother will be my own grave of boredom-''Melina paused as Sirius chuckled.''But granny started showing me some fascinated items inside that cave of hers. I became attach to them and now, this where I am.''She continued.

     They made it to the wild flowers field. Melina sniffed the lilacs the smell of fresh fruit.She snatched some in her mouh as Sirius got some rose petals in his. They made it back to Belinda's cave. Since she wasn't here they both laid down with their head on their paws facing each other.

     ''You know,''Sirius began.''I admire your beauty of helping other animals.''

     Melina smile.''Thanks,Sirius.Coming from you that means a lot.''

     ''So why are you so sparkly this morning?'' Sirius asked some time later. Melina hadn't known that he was trying to flirt with her or not.She knew she was going on a 'date' if she'd call it that.Simply she didn't want to go.She didn't feel like going.

   ''I got a date-''She groaned.

   ''A date!''Sirius head shot up.''With who?''He tilted his head.

   ''Another lone wolf,my mother's friend son.He don't live with us.I hate him!''Melina groaned again.

  ''Haha,maybe you should lose the 'tude' Belinda's little helper.''

   Melina laughed. She knew he was right. This was nonsense for her to have such an attitude on going on a 'date'.There was nothing to whine about.She will go,but she won't have fun.
