Good, simple write (without being simple). I like your use of patterns to convey your meaning here, and the imagery works well I think.
One thing that disturbed the flow of this good poem though, was the lack of capitalisation on the two lines beginning with 'nor'....aside from that though, I have a feeling I am going to like your writing......:)
