There's This Foreign Emotion Called Devotion

There's This Foreign Emotion Called Devotion

A Poem by TaylorAnn
"

A poem. Read it or don't, it's your option.

"

I try so hard to keep my word
But sometimes it wanders away
I try so hard to stay stiff and cold
But you warm my heart in so many ways
It’s thawing out
And I’m figuring out
That you hold that key
To the locked ingrained into me

You’re the mold and I’m the filler
You make my life into a thriller
But in a good way
You make my pulse race
You make me face the facts
It’s a fact that I hate
You’re the face in the crowd
That I look for everyday

I love you, and I hate you
That line is so thin
And my anxiety is evident
You reach out for me
And my walls just can’t handle it
They crumble down with my resistance
Can’t help but be distant
But I’ll always come back to you
If only for a visit
