Running Along Just Singing This Song

Running Along Just Singing This Song

A Poem by TaylorAnn

All we’ve got to look to is our past
Not so fun watching the has beens that have been had
When the future is blurry and the past is being seized
It’s being used to the advantage of someone who isn’t me
I should’ve watched my mouth and the moves that you made
Those waters I never would’ve waded
If I’d known it’s be like this
The shallow end is made for me
I would’ve severed myself clean
Rid myself of you and rid your mind of me
We were a long shot missed by a short shot
We’re all just a grim lot , watching the sun pass over us

Face it we’ve faced the best
We’re heading towards our regrets and the karma of our lives
Jump off that cliff
I dare you to dive
What happened to your drive, push that pedal
This is the last chance we’ll have to fly
Just try it, don’t buy it, try it just this one time
This time it’ll be our potential passing by
Like that hasn’t happened before
Multiple times I’ve taken this tour
It’s getting old, it’s already been sold
And it wasn’t to me

Dump it all, it’s being recycled
Used by someone who won’t suffer like I would
Memories erased and burned in the furnace
Ignore the screaming jump through the door
Then run as far away as you can
Who says you need a plan?
I’ve never been alone, but I’ll manage
I’ve never roamed, but I’ll manage
As long as I’m alone, I’ll manage
I’m sorry those ducts opened for me
Keep control of yourself, a tight hold on the leash
Do to yourself what you did to me
