Too Gentle

Too Gentle

A Poem by David

                          Too Gentle

I listen, I read and follow

What used to be so true

But now seems so hollow

Those values once learned

Now make me feel so blue

Makes me wonder how to get back

And wonder, whatever should I do

My eyes see things so changed

Used to make to me so much sense

What comes to me now deranged

Up, now down, folks now so very dense

They speak, I hear words changed

Used to mean one thing, no longer make any sense

I want my life back of this you are assured

No more twist of this language, speak not in varied tense

You surely have lost your mind and truly sound absurd

All about you sinking, you’re mind in such uproar

My mind ever so stable and yours I do abhor

Your twisted words betray you as you attempt to spin

That yarn of yours belies the truth, even as you begin

Come and speak plainly, never need to fear

You have come to me and only truth is spoken here.
