     Remembering Superman

It seems not that long ago that you were not concerned about leaving your home or car unlocked. Your neighbors paid careful attention to goings and comings. Women were spoken to with mindful manners, always a yes ma’am or no miss. Please and thank you were required of civilized conversation. Children walked to school if they lived within a mile and the bus stops were every half mile. Students back then dressed appropriately and wore chinos and dresses, button down shirts, tucked in, by the way. There was a principal, a vice principal that also served as gym teacher and coach. Teachers kept discipline

People attended church, PTA meetings, the Lions Club and Kiwanis were charitable organizations that contributed to local needs. There were comic books and usually an Encyclopedia Britannica in many homes. Young ones would watch news broadcasts with both parents before they all sat down to dinner together. There were bake sales and kids sold lemonade at the end of their driveway, never making much more than a dollar but happy just doing it. Summer would come slowly but when it did show itself, every bike in the world was active and headed to a baseball game, fishing at the local pond or simply being ridden. The police force had a captain, lieutenant, sergeant and a few traffic cops. The fire department was all volunteer and worked quite well.

The comic hero Superman had an alter ego called Bizzaro and lived in Bizzaro Land where everything was just the opposite, upside down, backwards and twisted. I fear I have entered a time warp and read one of those comics one too many times , sweeping me back to that strange land. I read many articles the other day about the federal government inserting monitors in newsrooms and broadcast facilities, there also being a mention of cable and newspapers. We have politicians making laws and then exempting themselves as though Grand Dukes and Earls. We have a so called president that has done not one positive thing in five very long years. He has decided to exempt himself from congress and the constitution, simply issuing imperial writs and edicts. We have agencies of the government spying on its own citizens in the name of security all the while letting masses of undocumented people into this country and then promptly giving them benefits and status not deserved nor appreciated. They are spying on you through your phone, computer, bank accounts and medical records. They even have access to your safety deposit box without warrant and are not required to inform you.  They now have a new program that will track your license plate no matter where you drive. They have smart chips inserted into your driver’s license and track you this way also.  In the meantime five year olds are being felt up at airports by ten dollar an hour workers that could probably not pass citizenship test. We are being forced to press one instead of them learning our language. We have motor vehicle tests in three or four hundred languages and hospitals and courts are forced to provide interpreters at tax payer cost. We have an Army being trained to control its own citizens by force and intimidation while building and organizing re-education camps just in case you’re not thinking right! This government has bought up all the bullets and daily writes laws to take away your rifles and weapons.

We have a taxing agency that is using its power to manipulate elections. To intimidate the ones that aren’t thinking right. To fine and drive into oblivion, those not in line with this administration. We have a new edict from King O that “He “ will raise the minimum wage for federal workers to $10.10 per hour so that “Folks will have a living wage”. What crap. The amount of people earning minimum wage is 1.3%. What he has really done is give his union cronies a wage increase just by the wave of his magic hand. Union contracts are tied to the minimum wage and are at a certain percentage, therefore any increase in minimum is an automatic for unions. Let me tell you, no one is going to live on minimum wage. The National Budget office has said the increase in the minimum wage will result in the loss of 500,000 jobs. More unemployed to get on the government tit.

We had health insurance that worked for the most part and now almost destroyed because “King O “ has a pen and a phone. We have people on unemployment for three years? I surely am not thinking right when I say forget that! Maybe six months. After that you are probably working under the table and getting your from the government. We have these foolish republicans going along to get along so they will have their cushy lobbyist jobs on K Street when they finally retire or get booted out for fraud or sexual misconduct of some sort. They are an absolute embarrassment and shameful in their conduct, putting themselves always number one and the country can get F(*^&%^^&^&(.  We have drones watching us in our own neighborhoods , cameras everywhere, satellites spying down on us from space and we are allowing this to go on. I hear  no great outcry. We have stores tracking us and what we buy. We have government manipulating our food and water, brainwashing our children. I hear no shouting from the window, “I’ve had enough and I’m not gonna take it anymore!” I hear no clarion call to defeat those that would take our will and way!

I fear I have become entrapped in Bizzaro Land. Superman please help us!
