I Grow So Tired

I Grow So Tired

A Poem by David

I grow so very tired, so spent , this news that they bring

Never a word to lift just word of the next shooting

Poison gas and Jihad, drug overdose the news for today

Chaos all round, madness and strife now on display

Bombing with kitchen utensils, in places of life

Bring death and devastation, where the young fly kites

Newsprint so filled with vile, should be used to wrap fish

While leaders surveil and beguile, it would be my biggest wish

The end of this battle for the hearts and the minds

Mules and donkeys our daily dose, leave me alone please be so kind

Your words are spoken so soaring , a Greek column for effect

Yet so empty your soul and your  heart, the  next minute you forget

Schools filled with drugs, now metal detectors and cops

Will there be a shooting , some evil display, it’s time now to stop

Put God back in our schools , maybe even history and math

Salute the flag ,be polite and mind your manners should be your path

Stop smoking dope and stay off the crack, no more time outs

Quit listening to that stuff they call rap, it’s rotting your mind of this there’s no doubt

The gaming four hours and three more for the phone, leaves little time

After the texting is done, If soon you don’t speak you’ll soon be a mime

We can’t find work while you tell us it’s ever so good, another lie I believe

Unemployment now for 99 weeks, Income we seek , not to cry on your sleeve

All these taxes and rules you apply, cut by half should be the goal and our great cry

Walter Cronkite turns in his grave, to watch tv news so filled with lies

They twist and they turn , they wiggle and squirm, the news they wish to disguise

Nothing is simple , no longer the truth, Christians slaughtered and not a word

Politically correct of God not a word but make room for the Koran,  just too absurd

High time my friends , my fellows and pals, men women and children

Shine in that light , scare the vermin away, gather together and then

Tear leeches from body , no more cancer to grow, speed them from office and them we need throw
