Twelve Years later

Twelve Years later

A Story by David

Today is the twelve year  anniversary of  9/11. If you do not remember that day it was exactly as this day. Warm, bright blue skies, with a wisp of clouds here and there. The major difference today is you can hear a plane fly overhead. Twelve years ago today was the most quiet I have ever heard the world! There was no air traffic after ten am .Even the motor vehicle traffic seemed quieter, probably because the entire country was glued to a radio or t.v. It was incredibly eerie.

I happen to live in an area that has an air wing or at least that day did. It was an incredible sound to hear that morning. The usual drone of a jet engine taking off from the base was far from usual. I had never heard a roar like that in my life. It was this fighter squad that was first dispatched and arrived at the scene of the crime some eight minutes later. When they first took off I wasn’t aware of what had happened yet but I knew something was very wrong.

It was a week or so before we caught our breath. Planes became to be seen again and life was to be forever changed. It has been twelve long years and the world has become a far more dangerous place, both nationally and internationally. The world has gone insane with murder and mayhem everywhere. Barbarians at every gate.

In this world of internet, I Phones and tablets , of instant communication and 24 hour , minute by minute news coverage we still have animals in far off countries beheading and stoning people to death. More than half of this planet is in turmoil, murdering and maiming without a thought. There is still slave trading going on in a great deal of this big blue globe. To think that these incredibly ignorant religious  fanatics will soon have nuclear weapons simply bewilders me. My God they are still using rocks and sabers!!!

We have a madman in North Korea shooting off missiles and threatening his neighbors . The only two things keeping him in check are China and lack of cash. I read a news article this morning about an EIGHT year old girl from Yemen dying from hemorrhage.  The cause of the blood loss It was her wedding night and her 50 year old husband just couldn’t help himself. I had to throw up after reading that.

I don’t know what the answers are but I do know that I am particularly glad that this fool running the show in Foggy Bottom was not our commander in chief twelve years ago. It is people such as he that are destroying the very fiber of this once great country with his leftist ideas, his uncontrolled spending, indecision , his political correctness along with his massive Ego. Washington needs to get small. State legislatures need to get small. The only way we will survive this onslaught from the warlords is to become once again strong. We need some grown ups in charge, people with morals and the good of the country their foremost thought and desire rather than the quest for wealth and power. People that have faith in this country and belief in their own God. People that respect us , the voting public and listen to our wants and needs not what they think we should get or have.

I realize that I do a lot of this kind of write but I will not stop until things change for the better or they come and put me in their Gulag! I wish you all a wonderful day and hope you will say a prayer for  all those souls lost twelve years ago in such a horrific and historic manner.

GOD BLESS
