Hats

Hats

A Poem by David

It was late last night and watching tv

When the strangest idea

Suddenly came right to me

Hats were my thoughts

Certainly strange as could be

I saw Alpines and Auroles

Babets, Babushkas and even Balmoral

Berets , Bonnets and Beanies

Top hats and Baseball

Bowlers, Broadbrim

And even a Caul

Camuros and Casques Chapeau and Duckbill

Fedora, Fillet, embroidered and fur

Gauchos and Derby a Pillbox for her

Gangsters with hats, and some for cowboys

A Leghorn a Kepi , Bush and Coolie

Hats made of Beaver, Headress and even one for the sea

Hard hats , Half hats Glengarry and more

Some made of steel see our boys off to war

Trilby and leather a Fez some adorn

Garibaldi and helmets hoods others have worn

My own observations all hats put aside

Too many to mention , wait there is one to ride
