A Poem by Taylor Williams
"

It's pretty much my take on life and what you make of it. My first piece in a long time so just let me know what you think.

"
pray, for the life that will never be yours
ask, forgiveness for what you have done
if you think it will help
but i. will. not
no i refuse
i do not hold regret
for a single choice that i have made
because everything, i have been through
is the reason that i, stand as a man in this day
no i will not ask forgiveness for
the things that have caused me to grow
and i will not bow
to the mercy of this thing called fate
no this life is mine
and will be whatever i choose to make
of it, and in time
we will all stray, away from these lines
that stand as the barriers between
what we know to be, black and white
our mistakes, are what cause us to grow as men
and every day, i give thanks to every sin
for i am proud of who i am now
and fear what i would have been
youre asking for direction
when all you need is to grow
so stay, kneeling on your knees
asking for, everything that you have wanted to be
but as for me
i will be on my way to succeed

This seems a direct reflection of deep thought. It doesn't say anything truly profound or new, but I bet you hold this piece dear. I do love the recurring thought of how one's decisions and the consequences of those shape the person one becomes. Maybe play off of that for a title? I enjoyed reading.
