No Escape

No Escape

A Poem by Taylor Williams

I wish that I
could turn back the sands
that hold time
in their unforgiving grains
flip the hour glass
and return the widow's bite
to expel the
poison of man
and re-write my future
to never lose for what I stand
I'm burning every picture
of the man I used to be
soon I'll hang myself
under the moon, for all to see
I'll spill my guts, is it everything
you always thought was inside of
inside of me
I'm so sorry for my betrayal
I'm sorry that I
put you through hell
but where you once were
is where I now stand
consumed by the fire
of every once, good intention
so here I burn amidst the flame
where the rocks rise up
like iron bars, to a cell
and I lost the key
during my final fall
there is no escape from this
I have broken my wings
and lost my halo
I've fallen too far, to be saved
there is no escape from this

"of every once, good intention" 11 lines up from the bottom, should this line be everyone's good intention? or are you trying to tie it back with the line "but where you once were"? If it is everyone's I don't think you need the comma, however if it is once I'm not so sure it makes sense.

Other than that, it is a very emotional piece. Maybe try to break it up into stanzas to make it a little easier to read, bu that's purely a cosmetic suggestion.
