The Serpent's Secret

The Serpent's Secret

A Poem by Taylor Williams

Sometimes i feel

like everything won't be okay

so lets make a deal

the devil and i on this dark day

yeah ill sell you my soul

if you can give me the will

and let my courage grow

so the serpent i can kill

but failure hits me as his fangs break skin

too late to change so ill make my bed

i feel the poison slowly sinking in

i need to stand back up before im dead

to gaze into the mirror as i die

and look into the true serpent's eyes
