The greatest enemy

The greatest enemy

A Poem by Taylor Williams

Time
It's the greatest enemy of man
The difference of what makes a man blessed
Or what can make a man damned
They say patience is a virtue
I believe this is untrue
You can spend a life time waiting
And get nothing in return
Or seize the moment
And take what you've earned
I'm tired of waiting watching the world spin by
Living in pipe dreams when I should really say bye
I've done all I can and what did I get
Just another time where you say not yet

Time
It's the greatest enemy of man
The difference of what makes a man blessed
Or what can make a man damned
I've spent so long just waiting for you
I'm getting to the point where I'm about to be through
You always say that you want it back
What we always had but then you turn your back
And I just can't understand
Is it the fear of repetition of losing me again
The times have changed and both of us with it
So why not take a step
And create a new beginning
Because time won't wait up and you can't build up
If you're chained by fear and refuse to hear
The truth in my words won't you please my dear

Time
Is the greatest enemy of man
The difference of what makes a man blessed
Or what can make a man damned
So seize the moment and take a stand
Or forever be consumed and crushed by its sands
