Call Me a Pessimist But...

Call Me a Pessimist But...

A Poem by Taylor Williams

as i sit and watch the trees pass by

i take a moment to reflect

upon my life

am i happy with how it all turned out

or would i change everything

without a moments doubt

my mind revolves

without reaching resolve

round and round it turns

every question unsolved

will i ever reach a conclusion that sets

my heart at ease

or will my mind snap

unable to find peace

as i sit and watch the trees go by

i take a moment to reflect

upon my time

spent searching the world

looking for answers

is this common curiosity

just mankinds cancer

do we live in fear

of a gods wrath

or just keep trying

to walk the best path

without ever stopping

to catch our breath

when there are no more trees to watch pass by

when this road ends

along with out life

and we find ourselves

cradled in death's arms

leaving behind

everything that we ever were

only in death's gaze, will we find

every unwritten answer

for our unresting minds

Nice flow. The last three lines were my favorite. Good read.
