The Midnight Sun Knows All

The Midnight Sun Knows All

A Poem by Kiara

The midnight sun whispers
A faint golden glow
Across the parking lot,
Across the melted snow.

The midnight sun carries
An empty cool breeze.
The chill attacks.
I fall down to my knees.

The cracking of the parking lot
Shoots pain up my spine.
The heart is torn out,
The heart that once was mine.

The midnight sun watches,
Beaming malicious power.
I crawl to the edge
And my body falls from the tower.

This scene was not of murder,
As the midnight sun surely knows.
It was my own free will,
Like my blood that freely flows.
