Can't Live Without You

Can't Live Without You

A Poem by Kiara

The day begins
Friday at last!
Glancing at the calendar,
It remains Tuesday.
When will the week end?

It's Saturday night.
Why did the week end?
Why did my life fade away with the week?
I can't live without you
And now you've left me

Why is the sun shining
When all I can imagine is rain?
Why does no one understand
I don't want to go out
Even to the grocery store

Why are carrots such a bright orange?
It hurts my eyes
Looking at the cart holding them.
I add grapes
Dark grapes to cover up the bright.

The drive home
Brings rain.
Maybe someone noticed
The sun was too inappropriate.
I cry with the clouds.

The car swerves.
I'm in the passenger seat watching
Watching a tree come slowly closer,
Welcoming in the dark night.
The world goes black.
