The RoomA Chapter by Kiara
A shadowed silence enveloped my body as a cold chill crept over me in the dark. I felt frail, small, unwelcomed in an unknown vacant space. My light footsteps echoed louder than they should. My breath was quick and heavy, loud in the discomforting emptiness. A wall suddenly appeared behind me, hard and icy. Fear clouded my mind, invaded every part of me. An irrational panic fought to scream, but left my lips unmoving and a difficulty to breathe. A faint trembling overtook my hands and developed slowly into larger shivers. A pin dropping across the room would have sounded like a gunshot.
