At the Breaking Point

At the Breaking Point

A Poem by Kiara

My heart aches and my shoulders sag.

Too much weighs me down

And it's all you.

I am the accuser

And you are to blame.

Time and time again,

You let me down.

Lies drip from your mouth,

Bullets shot into my already scarred heart.

No new marks scar my skin,

But how I long to open the old ones,

Open them deep enough to make a difference.

I want to escape,

I'm desperate for freedom from this agony,

But what would I do without you?

Where would I go?

You're all I have

But all you do is give me hope and then crush me,

And darling,

I'm starting to break.
