Good to Goth: Chapter 10

Good to Goth: Chapter 10

A Chapter by Tator Of Suburbia

Alexander walked into the ball room of Miss Ashley’s Finishing School for Girls. Everything was decorated a bit lavishly, on the tables were bouquets of lavender and jasmine that emitted a strong perfume.

Despite the many tables there was only one other person in the room. Her back was too him, but the perfume that he thought was coming from the flowers was actually coming from her. The candles in the room gave her lovely ivory skin a tantalizing glow. Her hair was pulled back enough to where Alexander could see her pulse thumping lightly in that slight curve of her neck where he knew the delectable scent was strongest and most tempting.

He walked closer to the lovely woman, her back forever to him. As he got closer he reached out and grabbed her arms. Her skin was as soft as silk, just like the day he rescued her from the forest, he could feel the goose bumps rising on her skin where his cold hands touched her. She shivered and Alexander moved closer in attempt to warm her. He nuzzled his nose into the curve of her neck where the scent filled every part of his body, he inhaled more deeply making the woman shiver again. This time he embraced her and began to kiss the curve of her neck, slowly she relaxed again leaning into his embrace and opening her neck to him, making the scent ever stronger.

Oh how strong the scent was, ghosts of her womanly features wafted in this scent. It contained the feel of her skin, the intense stare of her eyes, the voluptuous curves of her body that a corset did nothing but accentuate even more. Even her kisses were in this mesmerizing scent.

Alexander’s primal urges fully aroused, he let his fangs graze her neck. Just lightly enough to bring on another bout of goose bumps to the ivory colored silk that was her skin.

Thirst rose in Alexander’s chest, the beast had awoken. His eyes were red and his fangs were even longer now, his tongue slid along the curve where her blood dwelled. He could almost taste the delicious wine that beat through her veins, nectar of the gods. It was amazing that a creature this beautiful wasn’t an angel.

Finally the thirst became too much to bare and Alexander let go of all fear, he held his breath as he prepared himself to take the life of this young creature. He felt his teeth sink into the silk and the wine gushed over his waiting tongue. The sweetness of it was too much to bare, Alexander closed his eyes and just let the taste overcome him, fill his being.

The woman slumped in his embrace and Alexander pulled out. He opened his eyes and found he was staring into the dead face of Maddison Dickinson.

~*~*~

“Oh!” Maddison screamed as a sharp pain stabbed through her neck. The girls in her French class turned to glare at her for interrupting their study session. “Sorry, “ she mumbled and returned to her busy work.

She stared at the paper for a moment before she realized that she didn’t have enough energy to finish the assignment. Maddison began to sway, her head was spinning, like someone had sucked all of the blood out of her head. She attempted to signal for Miss Bradley to come help her, but the headmistress was not paying attention. Mary had messed up her conjugations and Miss Bradley was busy yelling at her.

Maddison gripped onto the desk in attempt to stable herself, but as soon as she stopped moving the room started spinning. She felt like she was in the forest again, but this time there was no haunted darkness chasing after her.

The edges of her vision began to close in, and the room began to spin faster and faster. Maddison tried again to catch Miss Bradley’s eyes, but her vision completely closed and she fainted.

~*~*~*~

Alexander jerked himself awake so hard he fell out of his desk chair. Once again he had fallen asleep in his study. It seemed that he never left the room unless someone from the school bothered him with invitations to another girl’s special party, this week it was for Maddison. Normally he would prefer to decline any such invitation before it was pushed into his hands, but he was forced to promise Maddison’s grandparents he would come. Not to mention the rather vivid dream only seemed to torture him even more.

He could feel that his fangs were still elongated as if he were actually hunting, concentrating Alexander managed to get them to retract to normal length. He sighed and rubbed his hand over his face, he considered visiting the school to tell Miss Bradley that he would be unable to go to the party due to some sort of other business. The excuse would work well, but what if Maddison wondered into the forest before the party and found that he was still there? His cover would be ruined along with his reputation, and what about this tugging feeling he feels in his chest that drives him to see Maddison again? With the added seclusion would it get better or worse? As if listening to his every thought the tugging sensation tightened, apparently it would get worse.

The dream had also left him feeling a little nauseous like the idea of feeding off of Maddison was a painful thought. Yet her blood had smelled so delicious, why is it that his forever frozen heart could pain at the thought of her lifeless face? He was a beast made to take the life of the living in exchange for his own immortality, dead hearts cannot feel love, loneliness, or jealousy.

Alexander sighed and stood up from the floor, he was tired of brooding. He walked to his bedroom where he could change his clothes. He had quite a bit of business to attend to before the party, like a gift, not only for Maddison but for her grandparents as well.

He dressed quickly and then grabbed his top hat and left the house at a high speed run only made for the undead.

Oh, oh, oh! A cliff-hanger I am in love with! Very nice! Can't critique that much at all. This chapter is quite difficult to critque as it's enviously good. Such a good idea to have Maddison faint, have her feel it too when Alexander day dreams of drinking her blood. That was something I wouldn't have thought of. It's unexpected, but brings a good twist to the plot. Work with this and I'm fairly confident your story will be much more intriguing.
Besides that, still grammar issues, and for some reason Maddison's POV is always written with more mistakes than with Alexander's. Is it merely the WAY she thinks compared to Alexander's that you're trying to stress, or is it fault?
Anyway, it's good. My favourite chapter so far. Great job!
