That Time on the PorchA Poem by Tate VivianoWritten for a friend that is no longer my friend.Do you remember that time on the porch? When we swore to cast off the chains that bound us to sadness. I haven’t seen you in months but it seems like years since we cried in each others arms that night. And I’m trying my best to keep our promise I wonder if you are I hope you are. I know there have been times when I clamped those shackles back onto my feet, You called me your brother that day and I called you mine. Yet I feel we have changed so drastically since than. Please my friend remember that time on the porch! When we embraced as two broken souls trying to glue the pieces back together with booze, cigarettes and tears. And let’s break this silence that has grown from the shame of broken promises. © 2017 Tate VivianoReviews
