SilenceA Poem by TastyKittensAnother poem from English 10
A quiet city.
Not a soul in sight. Abandoned buildings stand without care. The streets are cold, barren and cracked, Charred vehicles and bodies are the only occupants. As the night falls, ghosts move from building to building, But even they stop eventually. But in the silence comes an ear shattering sound. A window is lit for less than a second. Time slows. A golden light travels through the air. It is sharp, and it moves with great speed and accuracy. A ghost stands in the light's path; he has no time to react. His movements cannot counter. The light hits, and the ghost's room is splattered with crimson. A ghost across sighs. Another obstacle destroyed, Another enemy silenced. He grabs his weapon and moves. His conscious is clear. While he moves, there comes another sound which splits the air. He has only enough time to see a ghost in the building across. A light hits him. He falls to the ground. The sniper has been bested. © 2011 TastyKittens |
